As one of the country’s most sought after endorsers, Heart Evangelista said that her most personal beauty secret actually involves getting enough sleep every night before putting on makeup the next day.

“Definitely you have to sleep as much as you can. I am so busy but I make sure that I really have at least minimum six hours. But if makaka-eight hours ako even better. So sometimes ‘pag may trabaho ako, it’s understood na dapat by 9 p.m. nasa kama na ako. 9-9:30 p.m. magpapamasahe na ako, tulog na dapat ako nun kasi I’m up at 4 a.m. So yun talaga. So you need sleep, you need to drink lots of water and then I really make sure that I moisturize my face. I have the toner, I have the serum, I have the oil base, everything. I don’t do a lot of layers but I make sure that every night, kahit maka-one layer ako,” she shared during her press event at the GRWM Ball held last month.

The 39-year-old GRWM brand ambassador also swears by the beauty of finding inner happiness and peace which she considers her true wealth in life apart from all her blessings.

“So yun yung naging pinakamagandang prep because the next day when you do your makeup, it won’t sit as perfectly if you don’t have nice skin or dry yung skin mo or too oily. So yun talaga siguro yung importante. And kahit anong ganda mo, kung hindi ka masaya, hindi rin siya, mali talaga. Kasi nagawa ko na yun dati eh. Hindi talaga ako masaya, ayun. So ngayon, very cheesy life na (laughs). It really matters when you’re at peace and you’re happy, kahit anong ilagay mo, parang it just glows. So that’s important. Everybody is healthy in my life. Everybody I love, everybody is okay, and that’s really true wealth So happy na ako dun,” she added.

Heart also wanted to address those who have been made to feel shame when putting on makeup just because they are a certain age or a different gender

“You know my thoughts on that, I don’t have any message to those shaming, only a message to those who want to express themselves. The hell with what they say. Do what you want, do what you feel looks good on you, what makes you feel good. You only live once so be yourself and live your life. We live in a world where everything is so fast paced. We’re all going to age one day. But haven’t you noticed that there are some women that are in their 50s and in their 60s na ang ganda niya. Because it’s the aura, it’s the charm, it’s the personality. That’s what true face card means. It’s not about how true beauty or what they think beauty is. It’s not about what’s seen, it’s what’s felt. Totoo talaga. Hindi naman ako perfect ‘no. Nasa charm na yan (laughs),” she admitted.

Even though she has her own glam team, Heart said she still does her own makeup sometimes. Her routine is not as complicated as some people might assume.

“On my own, I’m super fast. I think in like 10 or 15 minutes I can finish my makeup kasi before when we started, I used to do noontime shows and variety shows, we didn’t have glam teams. We did our own hair and makeup and we were supposed to be on stage 9:30 a.m. for rehearsals tapos diretso live. I’m very fast actually. It’s easy lang. Basta nasa akin yung mga tamang makeup, wala akong problema,” she recalled.
